Caring For Your Stainless Steel Thermos
It is a well-known fact that Gott Stainless Steel thermos and its newer water cooler type counterparts are very durable and will rarely fall apart under normal conditions. Yet, you should still practice responsible consumer attitude and take care of your Stainless Steel thermos with regular cleaning and maintenance, ensuring that your Gott Stainless Steel thermos will stay alive much longer and also prevent you from contracting disease from germs and bacteria that may find itself in your Gott products, and ultimately, in the liquids you ingest.
For more efficient temperature maintenance
Preheat or precool your Gott Stainless Steel thermos before using it. You can do this by either pouring hot water inside or pouring cold water, depending on what you intend to put later. Let it stand for 5 minutes and replace the contents with the actual liquid you’re going to keep. Doing so will make sure that your liquids will maintain their temperature for a much longer time. This action saves the Stainless Steel thermos some time by completely removing its tendency to readjust its temperature just to match the contents – a phase that could actually shave away a certain amount of time from the temperature maintenance stage.
Wash your Stainless Steel thermos before and after use
It is very important that you clean your Gott Stainless Steel thermos before and after using it regardless of the content you put inside, since bacteria buildup can and will happen all the time. Use dishwashing soap and a clean sponge to wipe off stains and dirt from the inside, then on the outside. Make sure it is completely dry before resealing the lid. Doing so prevents the accumulation of bad smell resulting from humid air. And don’t forget that bad smell is usually the result of toxins or bacteria.
Do not use a dishwasher
Don’t use a dishwasher to automatically wash your Gott Stainless Steel thermos. The Stainless Steel thermos itself is durable but a dishwasher’s automatic process may lack the required attention to detail that a Stainless Steel thermos may need. There are nooks, crannies, and various crevices present on the Stainless Steel thermos that may be missed by most dishwashers’ automatic cleaning apparatus.
Do not boil your Stainless Steel thermos
Despite its solid state and toughness, a Gott Stainless Steel thermos may eventually weaken if constantly placed in direct heat designed to consistently boil it from the outside. To disinfect, use boiling water only on the insulated insides, and use soap to sanitize the outside area.
Do not put it inside the microwave
Microwaving your Stainless Steel thermos is even worse than boiling. While it is designed to withstand a certain amount of heat, it was not intended for outright reheating. A Stainless Steel thermos’ purpose is to maintain heat by insulating the liquid with vacuum, preventing loss of temperature due to conduction. Microwave, on the other hand, is designed to consistently heat things through radiation. This could result in the Stainless Steel thermos melting, and worse still, the insulation on its body will prevent the contents from actually getting heated. All you’re going to get is a melted, deformed Stainless Steel thermos with lukewarm water inside.
Thermos no longer retains heat. Can I fix it?
I have a stainless steel vacuum thermos that no longer retains its temperature. I used it for maybe 3 months and then one day i opened it and my coffee was cold. I can’t figure out what i did wrong and I’m wondering if it can be fixed. Only thing I can figure is that I washed it with hot water and then it cooled so somewhere between t temperature change something happened to the metal.
Is it bad to refill plastic water bottles and reuse them?
Okay so I notice that my sister refills her plastic water bottles (like Deer Park, etc.)
like 20 times before she throws it out. Why? Idk lol.
But it’s not safe right?
BPA? Can someone explain that to me?
I’m planning on getting stainless steel bottles, like you know those
gray ones that kind of look like thermos?? lol
Are you allowed to refill and use them a couple times without washing them?
Is that safer than water bottles?
Thanks SO MUCH!
Have a nice day! ![]()
PLEASE BE SERIOUS AND ANSWER THE QUESTION. ![]()

A magnet stuck to it… I also have a food thermos and I’m wondering if that is stainless steel or aluminium. A magnet did not stick to it and I got if a few years ago in target. Brand name, high-quality coffee thermos?
I’m searching for the perfect coffee thermos for my husband. I like Alfi brand, but I wanted to know if there’s anything better out there. I looked on Crate and Barrel’s website, William Sonoma, Bed Bath and Beyond, yet I cannot find anything. What are the best brands out there for thermos? Must be stainless steel. Thanks!!

Total patents, worldwide: 3.8 million.
-US: 2.1 million
-Socialists: USSR, 4000, total; China, 9,000; Cuba and all the rest? Probably none.
Socialism is a religion. And a failure.
Meg, because you don’t oppose socialists, Marxist or extremist Muslims who promote intolerance and tyranny.
is Stainless Steel Vacuum Flask/Thermos good?
is Stainless Steel Vacuum Flask/Thermos good?
Where can I get a VERY large vacuum insulated container? 10 points!!!?
I have been searching for a LARGE vacuum insulated container. I want one that is about 2.5 to 5 liters. (larger if found under ). I can’t seem to find one anywhere and the largest I have seen is 1.9 liters, which is a little to small. I’m using it to transport and temporarily store liquid nitrogen (you can use a thermos for this). It must be vacuum insulated, and either steel on the inside and out, or glass on the inside and steel on the outside. It can be a thermos, beverage dispenser, or any other type of container that meets my criteria. NO PLASTIC! IT WILL FREEZE SOLID! If someone could send me a link for one, I would appreciate it. I am really only looking to spend or less. Also, if someone could find a place that I could rent a dewar flask (5 liters to 10 liters) in South Jersey, that would be even better!!! 10 Points to best answer!!! Thanks!!!
I don’t think you guys understand my question. And I didn’t just re-post my otjher question, I rephrased it. What I want is NOT a dewar, they are obviously too expensive. I want something that can i can substitute a dewar for, such as: a large thermos, or something like it. And the second thing thing was that I would rent a large dewar if it was possible, not buy one.
